This restaurant is a great place to stop for breakfast or lunch. My wife had the taco salad and I ordered the ham and eggs for breakfast. The staff is friendly and you feel at home when you are there. I can't wait to order the chicken fried steak on our next trip.

We’re happy we stopped at this area gem prior to heading back to San Francisco. We had to wait a little bit outside, but the scenery and food were worth the wait. Service was excellent, food wonderful, and prices reasonable. Try the Huevos Rancheros! We’ll be back!

The ambiance of this place is undeniably cool, exuding a creative and artistic vibe. What's more, it's impeccably clean, which is always a plus. The servers, while very friendly, did leave us waiting a bit longer than expected. Overall, the service was good, with just a minor hiccup in terms of speed. While my friends thoroughly enjoyed their food, I, unfortunately, did not share the same sentiment. I opted for the grande quesadilla and found it to be rather tasteless. In hindsight, I wish I had chosen a sandwich instead

We arrived before 1 o’clock on Sunday. After we ordered coffee and lunch meal, we needed to wait for over one hour. They totally forgot us. For one hour, no coffee and water refill. Finally we asked if not started, we would like to cancel. They checked and said two minutes. But we still waited for 10 minutes. They just started cooking our order and refilling coffee!lol Food may be good but we were not comfortable so I cannot say great. This restaurant is small loco place so they may take care of loco first?! Anyway we just stopped by after visiting Reno. So we may not come back.

We stop here on our way to Tahoe , great place we did waited for a bit, it wasn't bad we got there right before lunch we got a table ordered our food the atmosphere is fabulous and cozy, small restaurant it gives mom & pop vibes! Love it, the food arrived all together and the burger was good , I got the biscuits and gravi, and everything was delicious and the portions were pretty good. 👍

Loved the atmosphere of this place! It had great views since it was right next to lake donner. The staff was very amiable and the service was very fast. We went for lunch on a Friday which may have contributed to the lighter crowds. Their club sandwich was phenomenal, one of the best I've had. Highly recommend as a lunch food.

Super friendly place that serves excellent diner food with an amazing amount of options. If you were ever to imagine the most idyllic diner w the friendliest of staff that serve the best Bloody Mary’s or Mimosa, it’s Donner Lake Kitchen. Long before arriving to Lake Tahoe, this place kept popping up in our searches for a quick bite, this place that legendary. The entire place has a “you’re family” vibe, literally we felt at home. We had the French dip sandwich, excellent, the DK something Sammy, TASTY and paired it w sides of polish sausage and sausage Pattie’s, chargrilled to PERFECTION. This is what this country is about. Friendly faces serving home made food making you feel like you’re family. I love this place!
